GFMD Senior Specialist is responsible for the daily operations, high quality of the service as well as timely processing of the master data changes for Customer Master Data and Finance and Controlling Master Data.
This role support GFMD Team Lead and the rest of the team of Master data specialists, supervising end to end process within NOCC, ensuring high quality and effectiveness of data entries.
The associate ensures reporting and analysis are in place and managed in accordance with defined data standards and operating procedures. This includes ensuring all necessary master data is available, accurate and compliant. Provide regular and timely reporting to support Novartis to enable improved performance, quality, compliance and S4 implementation.
About the Role
Key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create and maintain Finance Master Data Entities and hierarchies (e.g., Cost Centers, Internal Orders, WBS) in SAP/S4, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Novartis Finance Master Data
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with global governance rules throughout the master data lifecycle
- Prepare master data for migration to S4 Hana, including validation, cleansing, and alignment with project timelines
- Actively participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for tools related to Finance and Controlling master data entities
- Deliver ongoing training and onboarding for end users across teams to ensure proper usage and understanding of master data processes connected with SAP/S4
- Act as SPOC for master data topics, collaborating closely with GFMD Quality & Project Management, Finance teams, and technical teams to resolve issues and support planning/reporting
- Maintain and share process documentation, challenge the status quo, and recommend improvements based on data insights and trends
- Monitor risks, escalate data issues (process and/or technical) and conduct data impact assessments to ensure data quality is maintained to agreed standards
What you’ll bring to the role:
- University level degree in Business Administration/ Economics/Finance or IT related fields
- Fluent in English both written and spoken, excellent communication skills
- +3-8 years of relevant experience, with good functional exposure to finance processes (accounting, reporting, tax, treasury, forecasting) from a finance master data management perspective
- Master data concept knowledge and master data application set up
- SAP knowledge: experience in SAP ECC and Business Warehouse, Familiarization with SAP MDG, Qlik sense
- LDC/S4 implementation knowledge is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national organization and in projects implementation
