About the Role
Responsibilities:
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and analysis across a global, multi-entity IT organisation, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence
- Act as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, driving financial transparency and influencing decision-making across functions
- Negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to optimise cost structures and ensure value delivery
- Identify financial risks and opportunities, proactively recommend mitigation strategies, and follow through to resolution
- Educate and guide business partners on financial processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and standard operating procedures
- Deliver insightful ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic decisions and resource allocation
- Manage the full budgeting and latest forecast cycles for cost centres and service areas, ensuring accuracy and relevance
- Lead productivity and cost-saving initiatives, including insourcing strategies and location optimisation to maximise efficiency
- Ensure adherence to Novartis Accounting Manual and global financial regulations, identifying and implementing process improvements
- Provide leadership across complex, cross-functional projects, supporting change management and driving continuous improvement within the finance function
Essential for the role:
- Master’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related business discipline
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in financial controlling, planning & analysis, and reporting within a global organisation
- Proven ability to lead complex financial projects and drive strategic initiatives across multiple geographies
- Demonstrated success in business partnering, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- High proficiency in English and ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment
Desirable for the role:
- Experience in strategy implementation and business process development within a global IT or pharmaceutical environment
- Digitally savvy, with familiarity in Power BI or similar data visualisation tools, and an interest in using AI solutions like Copilot to enhance financial insights and drive productivity
